The 2012 Seattle Turkish Film Festival (STFF) will delight Seattle moviegoers with five contemporary feature films by some of Turkey’s most respected directors. My Grandfather’s People (2011) by the internationally celebrated director Cagan Irmak has been selected to kick off the festival with a screening at the opening night gala. We are extremely honored to announce that the director himself will travel to Seattle for the festival and will be on hand to speak to audience members about his films and answer questions.
The festival will also feature Once Upon a Time in Anatolia (2011) by the two-time Cannes prix recipient Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Merry-Go-Round (2011) by Ilksen Basarir, Love likes Coincidences (2011) by Omer Faruk Sorak, and last but not least Summer Book (2008) by Seyfi Teoman.
The opening night film will play at AMC Pacific Place and the remainder of the films will play at SIFF Film Center Cinema. Please join us in experiencing the mastery of these award-winning directors and enjoy some of the most thought-provoking, romantic, visually-stunning and moving Turkish films made in recent years.
